The Wolves came home on Wednesday night and ran into a Pistons team that was simply sharper. Detroit won 128-106 at Target Center, dropping Minnesota to 3-2 this preseason.
The numbers that mattered
Anthony Edwards led the Wolves with 20 points. He worked for them, going 5-for-15 from the field and 9-for-9 at the line. Jonathan Kuminga was the most efficient Wolf on the floor, scoring 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Jaden McDaniels added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Joan Beringer had 10 points and 7 rebounds on 3-of-4 shooting, and Ayo Dosunmu chipped in 10.
Melo's quiet night
LaMelo Ball played 18 minutes and finished with 3 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists, shooting 1-for-5. The playmaking showed up even when the shot did not.
It's preseason. A 22-point loss stings, but the regular season is what counts.
